A modern grinding machine should be capable of achieving high surface roughness, tight tolerances and, last but not least, should have a complex structure but at the same time be easy to use.

Stability and rigidity of a machine tool are given by its basement as well as by other structural components it consists of. Starting from an optimal design, these should be made employing good quality cast iron, cast following strict rules and undergoing proper thermal treatments.

Gioria is certainly up to this,  as well because it was  born at the beginning of the sixties exactly as a cast iron foundry.

In any mechanical job, dimensional defects surveyed on machined parts are mainly due to imprecision of the machine tools employed in the cycle. A grinding machine should reach an accuracy within tenths of a micron.

The accuracy of a part undergoing a machining cycle on a machine tool is directly proportional to the accuracy of any single component the machine tool is made of.

Thanks to the wide range of machine tools available in its workshop, Gioria is able to produce in-house all components of its grinding machines and subsequently assembly them using the best produces available today on the marketplace.

Gioria produces cylindrical grinding machines either hydraulically driven or CNC-controlled.

The first, economical and versatile, are aimed at a wide range of endusers, from small workshops to big companies.

The 160 series, available in four models that cover a grinding length ranging 600 to 10000 and maximum weight capacity up to 8000 Kg., is surely suitable in those applications where the production output is an essential factor.

The 150 series is mainly focused on the grinding of rolling mill rolls of any dimension. This series features a dedicated micrometric device suitable to grind rolls having concave or convex generating lines.

In almost thirty years Gioria has sold all over the world a thousand grinders meeting the most demanding production requirements.

Today the company employs about 60 people. The yearly turnover is around 7 million Euro.
